Web.com Group CEO Wins Bronze in 9th Annual Best in Biz Awards
Jacksonville, FL – December 20, 2019 – Web.com Group CEO Sharon Rowlands has been named a bronze winner in the Executive of the Year category in Best in Biz Awards, the only independent business awards program judged by prominent editors and reporters from top-tier publications in North America.
In January 2019, the Web.com Group, Inc. board of directors named Sharon Rowlands its CEO. The company has since improved upon its foundation, including enhancing its suite of products, renewing its commitment to employee health and wellness and expanding into new markets, notably acquiring Dreamscapes Networks Limited, the top provider of online solutions in Australia and Southeast Asia.
With more than 700 entries, the ninth annual program attracted a record number of entries from an impressive array of public and private companies of all sizes and spanning all geographic regions and industries in the U.S. and Canada. Best in Biz Awards 2019 honors were conferred in 80 different categories, including Company of the Year, Fastest-Growing Company, Most Innovative Company, Best Place to Work, Customer Service Department, Most Innovative Product, Enterprise Product, Best New Service, CSR Program, Event and Blog of the Year.
Each year, winners of Best in Biz Awards are determined based on scoring from independent judging panels assembled from some of the most respected newspapers, TV and radio outlets, and business, consumer, technology and trade publications in North America. Combining top editors’ and reporters’ unparalleled expertise and experience with the objectivity inherent in the journalistic ethos and further enhanced by the breadth and variety of outlets represented on the panel, Best in Biz Awards is uniquely able to determine the best of the best from among the hundreds of entries. The 2019 judging panel included, among others, writers from Accounting Today, AdWeek, Associated Press, Barron’s, Consumer Affairs, eWeek, Healthcare Innovation News, Inc., Investment Advisor Magazine, USA Today and Wired.
“This year’s entrants in the Executive of the Year category comprise a formidable list of the top-notch business leaders,” said Jack M. Germain, ECT News Network, having judged every single Best in Biz Awards program since the inaugural 2011 competition. “These CEOs come with varied backgrounds and accomplishments. They clearly are the driving forces for the successes and growth that their companies have demonstrated. Reading their bios and corporate contributions provide a must-read record of what it takes to succeed in business. Their results underscore how these CEOs became the driving force for innovation in creating a productive and inviting atmosphere necessary to generate a can-do approach to leadership.”
