What is Domain Management?
Domain management oversees a domain name's essential components to ensure it is secure, easily accessible, and appropriately represents the related brand or objective. This procedure entails checking that the Domain Name System (DNS) record is accurate, keeping an eye on the expiration date to ensure timely renewal and more. Domain owners can retain their online presence and safeguard their business identification by keeping their domains.

Controlling Auto-Renew
One straightforward approach to ensure that your products are renewed before the expiration date without you having to remember is to enable automatic renewal, often known as auto-renew. When you configure your product or service to renew automatically, you allow yourself enough time to fix any renewal-related problems without compromising your ability to utilize the product.
If Auto Renew is turned on for your domain name, it will be renewed about sixty (60) days prior to its expiration date to renew domain registration for the same term. You will be contacted by email when your credit card on file will be charged for the renewal. Please be sure you have a valid credit card and valid email address on file to ensure the continuation of service.

Managing the Domain Transfer Lock
Every domain name registration with Web.com comes with the free transfer lock feature enabled. When turned on, the transfer lock helps block the transfer of your domain name to a different registrar. It protects from domain hijackers or others who may attempt to authorize a transfer of your domain name registration.
With transfer lock turned on, you can still perform legal name changes and connect your domain name to web services. To transfer a domain name to another registrar, you must first turn off the transfer lock. To manage the Domain Transfer Lock, read What Are the Different Types of Domain Locks?
Changing Where your Domain Points
A Domain Name Record—also known as a DNS record—is a set of instructions stored within the Domain Name System (DNS). These records include domain details, IP addresses, email settings, and other important information. DNS records come in several forms, such as A records for the hosting service, MX records for mail servers, and CNAME entries for domain aliases. Each type of record has a specific function in effectively managing internet traffic.
Web.com® provides you with the ability to point your domain name to different locations. All domains point by default to the Web.com® Under Construction page. Read more about how to manage DNS records in How Do I Manage DNS and Advanced DNS Records?
