In this article, we'll discuss:
Create CSR with the New Exchange Certificate Wizard
- To access the Exchange Admin Center, open a browser and go to https://localhost/ecp in the address bar.
- Log in using Domain\\user name as the format for the username and put in the password.
- Select the link to Servers in the left column, then select Certificates at the top right, and finally click on the "+" symbol.
- The new exchange certificate wizard will be shown in a pop-up window.
- Choose the option to Create a request for a certificate from a certification authority.
- In the field for the friendly name, input a name that you will use to identify this certificate in the future. Remember that this name is not a crucial part of your certificate request.
- You may check the box and enter the root domain name if you are generating the CSR for a wildcard. Otherwise, proceed to the next screen.
- Hit the Browse button and select the server where you want to save the certificate request.
- If you are obtaining a wildcard cert, you can skip this step. Select the services you plan on running securely from the list by using Ctrl+Click to highlight the services.
On the next screen, you can review a list of domain names suggested by Exchange 2013 for inclusion in your certificate request. Review these names and add any extra names using the + sign.
- Your organization name should be the full legal name of your company. Your department name is the specific department within the organization. If you do not have a state or province, please enter the city information again.
- Save the CSR as a .req file by entering a network share path, then click Finish.
- You should now be able to open the CSR using Notepad or WordPad. Copy every content of the file and paste it into the online order process.
- After receiving your SSL Certificate from Sectigo, you can install it.
