How to Remove an Email Profile from Your iPhone or iPad

When configuring email for the first time on your iPhone or iPad, you can either opt for a manual setup or a faster automatic one. The automatic route will simply download a preconfigured email profile with all the necessary settings. Nevertheless, at times, it may become imperative to delete an email profile from your device. This may be because of problems concerning your email account or because you are migrating to a new email service.

These are some reasons that may want to remove your email profile:

  • Issues with your email account – If you cannot send or receive emails, removing your email configuration profile and setting up your account again from scratch can sometimes solve the problem.
  • You are switching to another email service – If you no longer use the email service associated with the profile, you can remove the profile from your iPhone or iPad. Removing it can help free up space and make your device's email app less cluttered.
  • Issues with your device's battery life – It is possible that a misconfigured email profile can cause battery drain, although it is a rare occurrence. If you have observed that your iPhone's battery life has been worse than usual after setting up your email account, deleting the profile and configuring it again from the beginning might help.
