How does CodeGuard work?

Automatic
backups

In your initial backup, CodeGuard will capture your site content and store it in our encrypted storage system. With all future backups, CodeGuard will identify and store anything that’s changed on your site.

Daily site-change monitoring

If any files are added, modified, or deleted on your website, CodeGuard will detect it. Your site will be monitored daily for changes, so you can spend more time focusing on your business.

ChangeAlert
notifications

If changes are detected on your site, CodeGuard will send you a ChangeAlert notification. We make it easy to stay up to date with any modifications to your website with timely email notifications.

One-click restore

You can easily restore your website content with the click of a button. CodeGuard simplifies the process by comparing the current version of your site with prior versions, so it only needs to restore the content that has changed.

FAQs

CodeGuard’s systems perform at 99.9% levels. With CodeGuard, you can rest assured that your website will be restored easily when you need it to be.

All backups and passwords are encrypted and annual vulnerability testing is conducted on the service. If possible, secure connections (SFTP/SSH/SSL) are also used.

Backups are stored on Amazon Web Services Simple Storage System, known as S3. S3 is one of the most reliable options for backup storage.

Yes! The data is stored using Server Side Encryption (SSE).

All file content is retrieved for the first backup of your website. After that, backups will only entail the transfer of any changes to your site. So if files are added, deleted, or changed, CodeGuard will take note and adjust the repository accordingly. Since only changed file content is transferred, the majority of subsequent backups require minimal memory, CPU, and I/O server needs.

When you need to restore your site, the first thing CodeGuard does is check the live website to see what content is on it. Rather than reload your entire site, CodeGuard will simply replace any corrupted or damaged files with your old clean copy.
